The Cedar Tea Project is a grassroots outreach initiative in Tio’tia:ké supporting street-involved members of our community. The project was started in May 2020 and continued with support from the Montreal Indigenous Community Network, the Head & Hands street work team, and SACOMSS. For 3 years we distributed food and water, bus tickets, personal hygiene items, medicines, camp supplies, and other harm reduction gear every week to anyone who needed them. The weekly outreach distribution aspect of the Cedar Tea Project is currently on hiatus, but we continue our work of supporting precariously housed Indigenous folks through our partnership with the Nii’kinaaganaa Foundation.
